Please watch for our new website and application forms coming August 3, 2010. Welcome to our home page. You have found a program of which we are very proud. The ACA Grants in Biodiversity provide research funds to outstanding graduate students and postdoctoral fellows doing research in Alberta. The mandate of the program is to increase the knowledge of flora and fauna of Alberta. Thus, most recipients work in the areas of conservation biology, environmental biology, and ecology. Grant applications are adjudicated once each year. The ACA Grants in Biodiversity Program is in its 16th year. To date, over 3 million research dollars have been awarded to 302 graduate students from 15 universities. Applicants do not have to attend universities in Alberta, but their thesis research must be Alberta-based. Many recipients remain in Alberta after completing their degree programs. These web pages provide background information on the program, how to apply, who is eligible to apply, and samples of studies funded. The Program is supported by the Alberta Conservation Association (ACA) and the Alberta Cooperative Conservation Research Unit (ACCRU) . ACCRU represents a consortium of Alberta Universities including University of Alberta , University of Calgary and University of Lethbridge . If you like what you see here and want to be part in helping create a lasting legacy toward conserving, protecting and enhancing Alberta's fish, wildlife and natural habitats, contact the ACA at 1-877-969-9091 (toll free) or the ACA Grants in Biodiversity program director, Dr. Lee Foote (780) 492 4020.For more information on the program please contact:
